Ejaculatory Duct Obstruction

Treatment of an ejaculatory duct obstruction involves a thorough history and physical examination.

This is important because some of the most common medications taken by men can cause the problem. If there are no offending medications, opening of the ejaculatory duct may be performed. Natural pregnancies after treatment may occur in up to 30% of men.

Obstruction of the ejaculatory ducts can be caused by a variety of reasons. These include small stones or cysts, infection, scarring, improperly formed ducts or other anatomic abnormalities. Also, certain medications can cause ejaculatory duct abnormalities with similar clinical findings.
