Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is the most common male sexual dysfunction. It affects as many as 1 out of 3 sexually active men and can cause a significant amount of distress, embarrassment and feelings of inadequacy.

Premature ejaculation is characterized by several characteristics including a short time between penetration and ejaculation (usually less than 1 minute), personal distress, and lack of control in the timing of the ejaculation. In severe cases ejaculation may occur before penetration of the penis.

It is important to understand that men with premature ejaculation are not alone.
Once Dr. Avila diagnoses you with premature ejaculation he will discuss treatment options. The goal of treatment is to allow for better satisfaction with intercourse by helping to regain control of ejaculation. This may be done with biofeedback, meditation, as well as hormone replacement, and medications.
